How to itemise Natan and, more importantly, why each item earns its slot.

Overview

Why this build works on Natan

Natan is a unique Marksman whose basic attacks deal returning magic damage and scale heavily with Magic Power. His passive, Theory of Everything, converts skill hits into stacking attack speed and movement speed, while his ultimate, Entropy?, summons a Reverse-Clone that replicates his basic attacks and abilities. However, Natan lacks inherent durability and requires rapid attack speed alongside high Magic Power to make his double-hitting basic attacks effective. This build solves Natan's need for continuous skill spamming, swift basic attack delivery, and immense magic scaling. By combining cooldown reduction, attack speed, and magic penetration, Natan transforms into a sustained magic damage threat during Gold Lane duels and teamfights.

Magic Boots

Early

Magic Boots provides essential early movement speed and cooldown reduction. This allows Natan to cast Superposition and Interference! more frequently, enabling him to quickly generate and maintain stacks of his passive, Theory of Everything. Lower cooldowns also grant him more frequent access to Entropy?, improving his ability to swap positions with his Reverse-Clone to escape ganks or secure early objectives like the Turtle.

Feather of Heaven acts as Natan's core damage item. Its passive, Affliction, adds extra Magic Damage to every basic attack based on his total Magic Power. Because Theory of Everything makes his basic attacks return to deal damage a second time, and Entropy? mirrors those attacks through his Reverse-Clone, Feather of Heaven drastically multiplies Natan's damage output in every trade.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Affliction: Basic Attacks deal extra Magic Damage equal to 50 plus 30% of the hero's Magic Power.

Golden Staff converts critical strike chance into flat attack speed via its Swift passive. This synergy allows Natan to reach maximum attack speed alongside the bonus speed from Theory of Everything stacks. Rapid basic attacks ensure that Natan and his Reverse-Clone from Entropy? repeatedly send out returning magic projectiles, allowing him to easily maintain full stacks and shred targets during chaotic teamfights.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Swift: Every 1% extra Crit Chance gained is converted into 1% extra Attack Speed.

Concentrated Energy provides Natan with necessary sustain and ramping magic offensive power. Dealing magic damage with Superposition or basic attacks activates its Recharge passive, raising his Magic Power and granting extra Magic Damage at full stacks. This continuous sustain and boosted magic amplification allow Natan to endure longer engagements while maximizing the damage output of his Reverse-Clone during extended fights.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Recharge: Increases Magic Power by 5 after dealing Magic Damage (this effect stacks up to 6 times and can only gain 1 stack every 0.4s). When reaching full stacks, increases Magic Damage by 12% for 3s.

Holy Crystal provides a massive power spike in the late game through its Mystery passive, which grants a percentage increase to Natan's total Magic Power. This substantial power boost directly amplifies the returning magic damage of Theory of Everything, his Superposition skill, and the mirrored attacks from Entropy?. Upon completing this item, Natan gains overwhelming burst damage capable of quickly eliminating key enemy targets.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Mystery: Gains 21%-35% extra Magic Power (scales with level).

Divine Glaive

Situational

Divine Glaive ensures Natan can melt resilient enemies late in the game. Its Spellbreaker passive grants extra Magic Penetration based on the target's Magic Defense. This prevents tanky opponents from mitigating Natan's output, allowing his returning basic attacks and the replicated spells of his Reverse-Clone from Entropy? to slice through heavy frontline defenses during high-stakes clashes around the Lord.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Spellbreaker: When attacking an enemy, gains 0.1% extra Magic Penetration for each point of the enemy's Magic Defense, capped at 20%.

Adapting the build

No build survives every draft. These are the situations where the order above should change.

Against enemy teams building heavy Magic Defense

Prioritize buying Divine Glaive earlier in your build order right after core attack speed items. Its Spellbreaker passive grants Magic Penetration based on opponent defense, ensuring that the magic damage from Superposition and Natan's returning basic attacks continues to shred tanky frontlines effectively during mid-game objective fights.

When facing aggressive enemy divers and burst threats

Rush Concentrated Energy ahead of Holy Crystal to secure immediate sustain and health restoration. The stacking Magic Power and damage amplification from its Recharge passive give Natan the survivability needed to withstand incoming burst, allowing him to maneuver safely using Entropy? while maintaining Entanglement stacks from Theory of Everything.

Item recommendations come from the game's own hero data. The explanations are AI-generated from Natan's ability kit and the items' in-game passives, and are checked automatically against the item list — they never introduce an item the game does not recommend for this hero.
