How to itemise X.Borg and, more importantly, why each item earns its slot.

Overview

Why this build works on X.Borg

X.Borg relies heavily on maintaining his Firaga Armor to safely deal sustained fire damage and execute enemies. Without his armor, his abilities deal reduced damage and his overall durability drops significantly. This build focuses on maximizing his sustain through spell vamp and HP restoration enhancement, allowing Fire Missiles to continuously heal his armor back during combat. Physical attack boosts amplify his True Damage output when burning fully heated targets and during his Last Insanity ultimate. Additionally, targeted defensive stats ensure X.Borg can survive initial burst damage in the EXP lane, collect Firaga supplies safely, and initiate chaotic teamfights with high overall survivability.

Build order

  1. 1 Warrior Boots
  2. 2 Bloodlust Axe
  3. 3 War Axe
  4. 4 Oracle
  5. 5 Blade of Despair
  6. 6 Immortality

Item by item

Equipping Warrior Boots early provides crucial physical defense that reduces incoming basic attack and physical skill damage during early EXP lane trades. This prevents enemies from easily stripping X.Borg of his Firaga Armor before he can heat them up. The physical defense gained upon taking physical damage gives him the durability needed to comfortably farm minions with Fire Missiles and control the lane against aggressive physical laners.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Valor: Gain 4 extra Physical Defense for 3s when taking Physical Damage, up to 20.

Bloodlust Axe

Core

Bloodlust Axe is essential for X.Borg because its spell vamp converts the continuous damage from Fire Missiles into constant health regeneration for his Firaga Armor. Since Fire Missiles hits multiple times over a short duration, this item allows X.Borg to sustain through extended skirmishes, frequently recover armor health, and pull in Firaga supplies with Fire Stake without being forced back to base after losing his armor.

War Axe

Core

War Axe exponentially increases X.Borg's sustained offensive capability. As Fire Missiles deals continuous multi-tick damage, X.Borg rapidly builds maximum stacks to gain extra Physical Attack and Spell Vamp. Once fully stacked, the additional True Damage perfectly complements the innate True Damage from his passive and Last Insanity. This synergy transforms X.Borg into an overwhelming continuous damage threat that melts both squishy targets and frontline tanks.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Fighting Spirit: Dealing damage grants 12 extra Physical Attack and 2% extra Spell Vamp per second for 4s, up to 6 stacks. Deal 10% extra True Damage according to Base Damage at full stacks.####[C8This effect is reduced to 50% for Marksmen, Mages, and Supports.]

Oracle

Late

Oracle directly amplifies X.Borg's survivability by boosting all received shield and HP regen effects. This enhances the spell vamp sustain from Bloodlust Axe and War Axe while increasing the armor restored when collecting Firaga supplies. With Oracle completed, X.Borg rapidly restores his Firaga Armor back to full state during continuous casts of Fire Missiles, making him extremely difficult to take down in extended late-game teamfights.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Bless: Received Shield and HP Regen effects are increased by 30%.

Blade of Despair drastically increases X.Borg's total physical attack, massively boosting the scaling of Fire Missiles and Last Insanity. The item passive grants an additional physical attack boost against enemies below half health, ensuring that the self-detonation damage of Last Insanity finishes off low-health targets effortlessly. It transforms X.Borg from a sustained harasser into a terrifying teamfight executioner during crucial skirmishes around the Lord.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Despair: Dealing damage to non-Minion enemies below 50% HP increases Physical Attack by 25% for 2s (takes effect before the damage is dealt).

Immortality

Situational

Immortality serves as the ultimate safety net for X.Borg during dangerous late-game engagements. If X.Borg gets focused down and loses both his Firaga Armor and base health, the revival effect brings him back to life with a fresh shield, granting him precious time to cast skills, regain energy, or reposition. This extra chance allows him to re-equip his Firaga Armor mid-fight and continue spraying fire.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Immortal: Revives 2.5s after death, gaining 16% Max HP and a 220-1200 shield (scales with level) that lasts 3s (210s cooldown).

Adapting the build

No build survives every draft. These are the situations where the order above should change.

Against heavy magic damage or burst in teamfights

Prioritize Oracle earlier right after finishing your core damage items like Bloodlust Axe or War Axe. The increased HP regen and magic defense allow X.Borg to survive magic burst while restoring his Firaga Armor quickly through Fire Missiles spell vamp, keeping him active in teamfights.

Facing strong physical lane opponents early

Complete Warrior Boots immediately before building your primary offensive items. The stacking physical defense reduces physical damage taken from enemy trades, preserving X.Borg's Firaga Armor so he can safely harass with Fire Missiles and retrieve Firaga supplies using Fire Stake without being forced out of the EXP lane.

Needing maximum dive potential and safety in late game fights

Delay Blade of Despair to finish Immortality earlier in your build order. This allows X.Borg to dive deep into enemy lines using Last Insanity without fear of immediate execution, giving him a guaranteed second life to recover energy and re-arm his Firaga Armor during crucial objectives like the Lord.
