How to itemise Natalia and, more importantly, why each item earns its slot.

Overview

Why this build works on Natalia

Natalia relies on ambushing targets from stealth using Assassin Instinct and her Ultimate, The Hunt, to inflict sudden burst damage and silence priority targets. Because her passive reduces her base Crit Damage while increasing damage to Creeps, this build prioritizes raw physical attack, slow effects, and rapid movement speed rather than relying purely on critical strikes. This setup addresses her extreme fragility by maximizing her burst during the brief silence window. By combining burst items with spell-weaving synergies, Natalia can jump from Camouflage, execute squishy marksmen or mages instantly, and disengage safely with Claw Dash or Smoke Bomb, maintaining high tempo across the map.

Item by item

Ice Hunter's Rapid Boots

Early

Equipping Ice Hunter's Rapid Boots gives Natalia the out-of-combat movement speed necessary to traverse the map rapidly while in Camouflage from Assassin Instinct. The Retribution active upgrade aids her jungle clear speed, which directly reduces the recharge time of The Hunt on creep kills. Rapid positioning allows her to set up unexpected ganks from bushes across lanes before enemies can react.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Side Effect: Loses 25 Movement Speed for 5s upon dealing or taking damage.

Blade of the Heptaseas perfectly complements Assassin Instinct. Coming out of stealth without taking prior damage triggers Ambush, stacking extra physical damage and a heavy slow onto her enhanced Basic Attack silence. This guarantees that when Natalia teleports behind her target, the combined burst leaves fragile enemies unable to escape or counter-attack before she casts Claw Dash.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Ambush: If no damage is taken or dealt within 5s (excluding from Minions or Creeps), the next Basic Attack will deal an additional 160 Physical Damage and slow the target by 40% for 1.5s.

Hunter Strike provides vital cooldown reduction and physical attack. Striking an enemy rapidly using enhanced Basic Attacks, Claw Dash, and extra hits activates Retribution, granting a massive temporary movement speed boost. This bonus speed allows Natalia to chase down fleeing targets or quickly weave out of danger after dropping Smoke Bomb during chaotic team fights.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Retribution: Dealing damage to the same enemy hero or creep 5 times in a row grants 50% extra Movement Speed that decays over 3s (8s cooldown).

Endless Battle enhances Natalia's spell-weaving playstyle. Since her Ultimate, The Hunt, immediately resets her passive state, she repeatedly casts skills between Basic Attacks. Divine Justice adds extra True Damage to her teleports and strikes, bypassing enemy armor. The extra movement speed and sustain help her maintain pressure across the jungle and major objectives like the Turtle and Lord.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Divine Justice: After casting a skill, the next Basic Attack within 3s deals 60% Physical Attack as extra True Damage (1.5s cooldown).

Blade of Despair offers the highest raw physical attack to overcome Natalia's reduced critical damage penalty. Despair triggers automatically when attacking targets below half health, granting a massive attack boost before the hit connects. This ensures her initial ambush combo from Assassin Instinct instantly executes weakened backline carries or low-health enemies hiding in their own jungle.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Despair: Dealing damage to non-Minion enemies below 50% HP increases Physical Attack by 25% for 2s (takes effect before the damage is dealt).

Windtalker

Situational

Windtalker supplements the passive crit chance provided by the passive of The Hunt while granting extra movement speed and attack speed. Typhoon adds magic damage to her Basic Attacks, helping her break through shields and clear minion waves or jungle creeps much faster. It enhances her fluidity when repeatedly re-entering stealth and executing quick follow-up attacks.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Typhoon: Every 5-2s (reduced by 0.2s for each Basic Attack), the next Basic Attack will hit up to 3 enemy units for 150-362 Magic Damage. (This attack can Crit and the damage increases to 200% against Minions.)

Adapting the build

No build survives every draft. These are the situations where the order above should change.

When enemies frequently escape low-health engagements

Prioritize Blade of Despair earlier after your core items to maximize instant execution damage. The massive physical attack boost ensures that your enhanced Basic Attack from Assassin Instinct finishes off fleeing targets during the brief silence window, eliminating the need for extended chases when enemies possess strong mobility tools.

When the enemy team constantly invades your jungle

Rush Hunter Strike right after your boots to gain vital cooldown reduction and mobility. The rapid movement speed boost from its passive lets you maneuver quickly between jungle camps, clear creeps faster to recharge charges for The Hunt, and easily disengage from unfavorable skirmishes using Claw Dash and Smoke Bomb.

When enemy carries build early physical defense

Prioritize Endless Battle right after Blade of the Heptaseas to introduce True Damage into your burst combo. Because Divine Justice triggers every time you weave skills like The Hunt or Claw Dash, your enhanced teleports will bypass physical armor, maintaining lethal single-target elimination potential against durable heroes.
