How to itemise Miya and, more importantly, why each item earns its slot.

Overview

Why this build works on Miya

Miya relies heavily on rapid basic attacks to unleash her passive Moon Blessing and first skill Moon Arrow. Because her kit lacks defensive durability outside of her ultimate Hidden Moonlight, she is vulnerable early in the Gold Lane and requires items that immediately improve her offensive momentum and movement. This build focuses on maximizing on-hit attack effects and attack speed. Fast attacks trigger her passive Moonlight Shadow clone and allow Moon Arrow to spread extra hit effects across multiple targets during teamfights. By stacking attack speed early and adding physical armor penetration late, Miya compensates for her low base durability by obliterating enemy teams before they can lock her down.

Swift Boots

Early

Swift Boots provide crucial early movement speed to help Miya position safely in the Gold Lane while dodging skillshots. The extra attack speed speeds up how quickly she can build five stacks of Moon Blessing, allowing her to trigger her Moonlight Shadow clone much earlier in trades without relying entirely on her ultimate Hidden Moonlight.

Corrosion Scythe accelerates Miya's attack speed while applying a slowing effect on basic attacks. When paired with Moon Arrow, the extra arrows apply attack effects to multiple targets at once, making it impossible for enemies hit by Arrow of Eclipse to escape her relentless assault. The extra physical damage on basic attacks combined with stacking attack speed makes her laning trades significantly stronger.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Corrosion: Basic Attacks gain 80 extra Physical Damage and slow the target by 8% (halved for ranged Basic Attacks) for 1.5s. Stacks up to 5 times.

Demon Hunter Sword turns Miya into a tank-shredding threat. Its passive damage based on target current health applies through her extra arrows from Moon Arrow and her Moonlight Shadow clone generated by Moon Blessing. Finishing this item allows Miya to comfortably shred high health enemies and take down major objectives like the Turtle or Lord rapidly with continuous basic attacks.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Devour: Basic Attacks deal 8% of the target's current HP as extra Physical Damage (capped at 60 against minions).

Golden Staff converts critical chance into raw attack speed and enhances her attack effect frequency. Since Moon Blessing and Moon Arrow rely heavily on delivering hit effects as fast as possible, Golden Staff enables Miya to unleash a torrent of split arrows. Once completed, her ultimate Hidden Moonlight instantly maxes her stacks, unleashing instant, overwhelming basic attack volleys.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Swift: Every 1% extra Crit Chance gained is converted into 1% extra Attack Speed.

Haas' Claws grants essential lifesteal and attack speed boosts to sustain Miya during late game teamfights. Since Miya has low base durability, life drain allows her to quickly replenish health when firing Moon Arrow into enemy groups. The attack speed bonus upon critical strikes further amplifies her output if Golden Staff converts her critical stats into even faster basic attacks.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Frenzy: Critical strikes grant 20% Attack Speed for 2s.

Malefic Roar addresses enemy physical defense stacking in late game scenarios. Its armor buster passive increases physical penetration against heavily armored targets. This ensures that the extra arrows from Moon Arrow and the damage from her Moon Blessing clone maintain maximum lethality against tanks, preventing her damage from falling off when enemies purchase heavy physical armor items.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Armor Buster: When attacking an enemy, gains 0.125% extra Physical Penetration for each point of the enemy's Physical Defense, capped at 40%.

Adapting the build

No build survives every draft. These are the situations where the order above should change.

When facing heavy enemy tanks stacking physical defense

Prioritize buying Malefic Roar directly after finishing Demon Hunter Sword and Corrosion Scythe instead of delaying it for lifesteal. The extra physical penetration ensures that the multi-target arrows from Moon Arrow and the bonus hit from Moon Blessing continue to melt sturdy frontlines that build early physical defense items.

When needing aggressive sustained lifesteal in drawn-out skirmishes

Build Haas' Claws immediately after Corrosion Scythe and Demon Hunter Sword. The immediate lifesteal and attack speed boost allow Miya to sustain through poke damage in the Gold Lane and recover health rapidly by casting Moon Arrow on minion waves, keeping her healthy without needing to frequently retreat.

Item recommendations come from the game's own hero data. The explanations are AI-generated from Miya's ability kit and the items' in-game passives, and are checked automatically against the item list — they never introduce an item the game does not recommend for this hero.
