Overview

Why this build works on Ixia

Ixia relies heavily on hit-count attack speed and physical damage to rapidly trigger her passive, Siphon Starlium, especially while channelled through her ultimate, Full Barrage. Because Siphon Starlium cannot crit and her basic attacks cannot trigger baseline lifesteal, building traditional critical chance early is inefficient. Instead, Ixia demands high attack speed and attack-on-hit effects to trigger Siphon Starlium's massive physical damage burst and total damage lifesteal healing as frequently as possible. This build maximizes her attack speed and physical penetration, allowing her to lock down teamfights inside Full Barrage, maintain self-sustain through passive procs, and melt frontliners with on-hit damage.

Item by item

Swift Boots

Early

Swift Boots provide essential early attack speed, allowing Ixia to apply stacks of Starlium Charge much faster during initial Gold Lane trades. The added movement speed works in tandem with Dual Beam to help her position effectively, poke from safe distances, and clear minion waves quickly before ultimate teamfights begin.

Corrosion Scythe is a critical power spike for Ixia. Its stacking attack speed bonus speeds up how rapidly she can trigger Siphon Starlium. Furthermore, the slowing effect on basic attacks synergizes with Dual Beam and Star Helix, helping her keep enemies trapped inside her basic attack range and setting up massive multi-target hits during Full Barrage.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Corrosion: Basic Attacks gain 80 extra Physical Damage and slow the target by 8% (halved for ranged Basic Attacks) for 1.5s. Stacks up to 5 times.

Demon Hunter Sword scales Ixia's damage dramatically against tanky enemies. Since her passive Siphon Starlium scales off total physical attack and hits multiple targets during Full Barrage, the current-HP damage from Devour melts whole enemy teams. The massive attack speed gain allows her to continuously cycle Starlium Charge procs for rapid health recovery.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Devour: Basic Attacks deal 8% of the target's current HP as extra Physical Damage (capped at 60 against minions).

Windtalker

Situational

Windtalker provides supplementary attack speed and movement speed, making Ixia far more nimble when repositioning before channeling Full Barrage. The extra splash damage from Typhoon triggers frequently due to her rapid basic attacks, boosting her wave clear and adding extra magic damage poke during chaotic teamfights around map objectives like the Turtle or Lord.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Typhoon: Every 5-2s (reduced by 0.2s for each Basic Attack), the next Basic Attack will hit up to 3 enemy units for 150-362 Magic Damage. (This attack can Crit and the damage increases to 200% against Minions.)

Haas' Claws offers a huge boost to attack speed when critical hits trigger Frenzy, significantly shortening the interval between Siphon Starlium activations. Although Siphon Starlium itself cannot crit, the raw physical attack elevates her passive damage and healing output, keeping her alive during late-game teamfights while locked in her ultimate state.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Frenzy: Critical strikes grant 20% Attack Speed for 2s.

Malefic Roar ensures Ixia's heavy physical damage ignores enemy physical defense. As tanks and fighters stack armor in the late game, Armor Buster grants increasing physical penetration. This ensures that every proc of Siphon Starlium and every basic attack during Full Barrage tears through enemy frontlines without losing momentum.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Armor Buster: When attacking an enemy, gains 0.125% extra Physical Penetration for each point of the enemy's Physical Defense, capped at 40%.

Adapting the build

No build survives every draft. These are the situations where the order above should change.

When facing high-defense tanks and tanky frontliners

Prioritise Demon Hunter Sword immediately after Swift Boots. The percentage-health damage from Devour combined with Ixia's rapid Starlium Charge stacks helps slice through high HP pools early, giving her superior laning pressure and stronger contest power around the Turtle.

When the enemy team builds heavy physical defense late game

Prioritise Malefic Roar right after core attack speed items. Armor Buster ensures that her Siphon Starlium procs and Full Barrage basic attacks maintain maximum physical damage against enemies who stack physical defense items, preventing her output from dropping off.

Item recommendations come from the game's own hero data. The explanations are AI-generated from Ixia's ability kit and the items' in-game passives, and are checked automatically against the item list — they never introduce an item the game does not recommend for this hero.
