How to itemise Benedetta and, more importantly, why each item earns its slot.

Overview

Why this build works on Benedetta

Benedetta relies heavily on fast Sword Intent charges from her passive Elapsed Daytime and frequent skill rotations to weave through fights. Because her damage scales immensely with Total and Extra Physical Attack across Phantom Slash and Alecto: Final Blow, this build focuses on maxing out raw physical power and armor penetration while providing necessary mobility and survival stats. Early cooldown reduction and movement boosts allow her to constantly re-position using Swordout Slash, while defensive stats prevent her from being bursted down when utilizing An Eye for An Eye offensively. Ultimately, this loadout turns Benedetta into a lethal high-speed assassin capable of tearing through squishies and frontline tanks alike during teamfights.

Item by item

Providing early physical defense, these boots help Benedetta sustain damage during aggressive jungle clears and early skirmishes. The temporary armor gain from taking physical hits complements her close-range combat style when dashing in with Elapsed Daytime. This added durability ensures she survives early trades before she can reliably rely on An Eye for An Eye to block incoming damage.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Valor: Gain 4 extra Physical Defense for 3s when taking Physical Damage, up to 20.

This item is crucial for Benedetta as her multi-hit abilities like Phantom Slash and Alecto: Final Blow quickly trigger the movement speed bonus. The flat physical penetration boosts her early burst damage, while the extra movement speed enhances her relentless chasing capability. With this item completed, she can easily glide across the map and re-engage using passive Swordout Slash dashes.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Retribution: Dealing damage to the same enemy hero or creep 5 times in a row grants 50% extra Movement Speed that decays over 3s (8s cooldown).

Endless Battle synergizes perfectly with Benedetta's skill-heavy playstyle. Since she constantly casts skills between basic attacks and Swordout Slash dashes, she reliably triggers extra true damage to shred beefy targets. The additional sustain and cooldown reduction allow her to spam An Eye for An Eye more frequently, drastically increasing her survivability and aggressive tempo during mid-game skirmishes around objectives like the Turtle.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Divine Justice: After casting a skill, the next Basic Attack within 3s deals 60% Physical Attack as extra True Damage (1.5s cooldown).

Providing a massive boost to her physical attack scaling, this item makes her abilities hit drastically harder. Alecto: Final Blow scales heavily with extra physical attack, and Phantom Slash deals double damage when the shadow connects. The extra physical attack against low-health enemies enables her to execute fleeing foes instantly with a charged Swordout Slash, solidifying her role as an unstoppable backline assassin.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Despair: Dealing damage to non-Minion enemies below 50% HP increases Physical Attack by 25% for 2s (takes effect before the damage is dealt).

Dealing damage with her skills stacks extra physical attack, movement speed, and control duration reduction. This item prevents Benedetta from being locked down and bursted during late-game engagements. The added control reduction ensures that even if she misses the timing on An Eye for An Eye, she can recover fast enough to charge her Sword Intent and dash away safely.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Brute Force: Each second after dealing damage, gain 6 extra Physical Attack and Magic Power and 2% extra Movement Speed for 4s, up to 6 stacks. Gain 15% extra Control Duration Reduction at full stacks.

As enemies stack armor late in the game, Malefic Roar provides dynamic physical penetration scaled against enemy physical defense. This ensures that her Alecto: Final Blow ultimate and basic Swordout Slash dashes retain their devastating burst power against tanky opponents, preventing her damage from falling off when invading the enemy base or fighting for the Lord.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Armor Buster: When attacking an enemy, gains 0.125% extra Physical Penetration for each point of the enemy's Physical Defense, capped at 40%.

Adapting the build

No build survives every draft. These are the situations where the order above should change.

Against heavy crowd control and prolonged teamfights

Prioritize completing Brute Force Breastplate earlier in your build path, right after Hunter Strike. The extra control duration reduction and stacking defensive stats give Benedetta the resilience required to withstand heavy disables if she fails to block them using An Eye for An Eye, ensuring she can still charge Sword Intent and escape.

When enemy tanks stack high physical defense early

Rush Malefic Roar before Blade of Despair. While Blade of Despair offers massive raw damage, the dynamic percentage penetration from Malefic Roar allows Phantom Slash and Alecto: Final Blow to punch through heavily armored targets much earlier, making objective contests around the Turtle far more effective.

Item recommendations come from the game's own hero data. The explanations are AI-generated from Benedetta's ability kit and the items' in-game passives, and are checked automatically against the item list — they never introduce an item the game does not recommend for this hero.
