How to itemise Aamon and, more importantly, why each item earns its slot.

Overview

Why this build works on Aamon

This build transforms Aamon into an unstoppable burst-execute assassin by maximizing the magic scaling on his enhanced basic attacks and skills. Aamon relies on weaving enhanced strikes following his Camouflage state from Invisible Armor to reset skill cooldowns and quickly accumulate charges for Endless Shards. Without proper itemization, his burst falls off against resilient targets and his melee range leaves him vulnerable upon revealing himself. By equipping items that amplify basic attack magic damage, proc true damage on skill casts, and scale overall Magic Power, this build ensures every skill weave deals lethal damage while providing necessary shielding and lifesteal to keep him active in fights.

Ice Hunter's Arcane Boots

Early

Ice Hunter's Arcane Boots accelerate Aamon's jungle clearing speed with bonus True Damage while providing early Magic Penetration to enhance Soul Shards and Slayer Shards. The extra movement speed complements the Camouflage state from Invisible Armor, enabling faster rotations across lanes, efficient Turtle control, and deadly early ambushes before opponents can stack defensive magic resistance.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Hunter: After dealing damage to a Creep, deal 25<2|lv 3> + True Damage to the target over 3s (damage is increased by 100% for non-Marksmen heroes).

Feather of Heaven is crucial because Aamon relies heavily on enhanced Basic Attacks generated by Invisible Armor. The item adds extra Magic Damage to every strike, matching his attack speed and skill cooldown reduction mechanics. This enables Aamon to rapidly cycle through his abilities, collect charges for Soul Shards faster, and maintain continuous pressure on enemies.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Affliction: Basic Attacks deal extra Magic Damage equal to 50 plus 30% of the hero's Magic Power.

Since Aamon frequently casts Slayer Shards before landing an enhanced strike, Starlium Scythe's Crisis passive converts his follow-up basic attack into devastating True Damage while granting a movement speed boost. This burst pierces magic defense and turns Aamon into a high-threat assassin capable of deleting squishy targets with a quick skill-and-attack sequence.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Crisis: Within 3s after casting a skill, the caster's next Basic Attack will deal additional True Damage equal to 100 plus 100% Magic Power and briefly grant 10% Movement Speed. This effect has a 1.5s cooldown.

As Aamon continuously casts skills and lands enhanced Basic Attacks, Concentrated Energy builds Magic Power stacks and increases overall Magic Damage output. The Magic Lifesteal synergizes with the passive healing from Invisible Armor, giving Aamon the combat longevity needed to reduce target health low enough for Endless Shards to inflict maximum execute damage.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Recharge: Increases Magic Power by 5 after dealing Magic Damage (this effect stacks up to 6 times and can only gain 1 stack every 0.4s). When reaching full stacks, increases Magic Damage by 12% for 3s.

Holy Crystal drastically boosts total Magic Power, scaling every ability in Aamon's kit. This massive power spike significantly raises the damage cap on Endless Shards, ensuring that targets below thirty percent health are instantly eliminated. It also strengthens the passive healing from Invisible Armor and increases the True Damage dealt by Starlium Scythe.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Mystery: Gains 21%-35% extra Magic Power (scales with level).

Entering late-game teamfights, Blood Wings provides a massive surge of Magic Power alongside a heavy shield that scales with his offensive stats. The shield and movement speed give Aamon vital protection when breaking Camouflage to dive backline squishies. If depleted, the shield regenerates after a brief delay, granting crucial survivability during extended engagements.

In-game passive Unique Passive - Guard: Gains a shield equal to 200% of Magic Power. The shield will regenerate 20s after being damaged, and grants 30 Movement Speed while it lasts.

Adapting the build

No build survives every draft. These are the situations where the order above should change.

Against durable team compositions stacking early magic defense

Prioritize completing Starlium Scythe right after boots before finishing Feather of Heaven. The immediate True Damage from Starlium Scythe allows Aamon to slice through high health pools, ensuring his enhanced basic attacks and ultimate still execute tanky enemies effectively.

When facing heavy enemy burst damage and aggressive counter-initiations

Delay Holy Crystal to build Blood Wings right after Concentrated Energy. The large shield from Guard, combined with movement speed and lifesteal, grants Aamon the defensive barrier required to survive incoming burst damage when exiting Camouflage.

Item recommendations come from the game's own hero data. The explanations are AI-generated from Aamon's ability kit and the items' in-game passives, and are checked automatically against the item list — they never introduce an item the game does not recommend for this hero.
